This session used popular films to look at images of gifted youth in the media. We were encouraged to interrogate the identities, conflicts, and stereotypes associated with gifted students as we watched clips from the following films: Little Man Tate, October Sky, Finding Forrester, The Breakfast Club, Good Will Hunting, and Proof. There was not much time to discuss the characters and their circumstances, but many interesting points emerged from the sequence of clips.
